REPORT ON THE 2026 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING SERVICE

Theme: “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”

The Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly, in collaboration with the Asesewa Local Council of Churches, successfully commemorated the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at the Assemblies of God Church Auditorium, Asesewa. The event was held under the national theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”

The programmed brought together a cross-section of stakeholders, including the District Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer; staff of the Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly; religious leaders; representatives of the security services; officials of the District Education Directorate; staff and students of Asesewa Senior High School; personnel of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE); the District Health Directorate; and members of the general public.

Delivering his address, the District Chief Executive underscored the importance of resetting national values by promoting honesty, discipline, integrity, patriotism, accountability, and hard work as essential pillars for sustainable national development. He urged residents to support government policies and programmed and to play active roles in advancing the socio-economic development of the Upper Manya Krobo District and Ghana as a whole.

The service featured scripture readings, praise and worship, an exhortation, and sessions of intercessory prayers. Special prayers were offered for the President of the Republic, Ministers of State and other political office holders, the peace, security, and stability of Ghana, the Upper Manya Krobo District, the Christian community, and for God’s wisdom, guidance, and protection for the nation’s leadership and citizens.

The programmed ended successfully with participants reaffirming their commitment to uphold positive moral values, foster peaceful coexistence, strengthen national unity, and contribute meaningfully towards building a peaceful, resilient, and prosperous Ghana.
