UPPER MANYA KROBO IS SET TO BENEFIT FROM A SUBMARINE SECURITY TRAINING CENTER AT AKATENG.

The ceremony, graced by Navy officials within the Ghana police service led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of special operations DCOP Raymond Adofiem, highlighted the purpose of the base and its role in combating marine crime boost economic activities and enhancing Disaster Risk Reduction among lake commuters.

The commissioner DCOP Raymond Adofiem, in a well-delivered speech, emphasized the importance of community support for the initiative, noting that Akateng was chosen due to the hard work of MP Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko.

The Commissioner challenged the MP to leverage his position to secure logistics from Parliament to enhance the center establishment, stating that Akateng will become Ghana’s number 1 submarine police training center upon completion.

The DCOP encouraged locals to embrace the initiative, assuring it won’t disrupt daily activities.

MP Hon. Bismark thanked community leaders, the chiefs, the Assembly member and the people of Akateng for accepting the project and stressed its economic benefits.

DCE Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer also the chairman of DISEC commettee welcomed the initiative, thanking the MP for his efforts and pledging support for the project.

The DISEC chairman highlighted expected economic benefits, including job creation, Economic stability, combating Crime and in long term generate revenue for the Assembly and there promised to ensure the proposed site is approved for the center.

The Commissioner DCOP Raymond presented a plaque to Hon. Kwesi Lawer, praising his leadership.

The plague symbolises the DCE climbing a good tree with the MP and the good people of upper manya pushing him up ”

He that climbs a good tree need support” he said.

Marine officers demonstrated drills on the lake, drawing applause from the gathering.
