The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) commenced on Monday, 4th May 2026
across five centres: Asesewa A, Asesewa B, Anyaboni, Mensah Dawa, and Sekesua.
A total of 1,156 candidates, comprising 619 boys and 537 girls, are sitting for the examination
within the district. Ten (10) candidates were absent, made up of 6 boys and 4 girls.
Prior to the start of the examination, the District Education Director, Mad. Evelyn Tawiah Nyanu;
the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Laweh and the District Police
Commander, Supt. Benjamin Buxton visited the various centres to interact with the candidates.
The DCE encouraged the candidates to remain calm, focused, and confident, while wishing them
success in their examination. The District Education Director also advised the candidates to adhere
to examination rules and give off their best. The District Police Commander cautioned candidates
against examination malpractice and emphasized the need for discipline and integrity throughout
the examination period.
The examination commenced smoothly across all centres under proper supervision.
