The Assembly has successfully organized an orientation and training workshop for the newly constituted Members for the Fifth (5th) Assembly of the Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly following the Local Government Elections conducted in 2023 by the Electoral Commission for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country.
This training programmed was organized under the auspices of Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGD&RD) in partnership with the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) aimed at training the Hon. Members to transition effectively into their roles and responsibilities to enable them deliver on their mandate to their electorates.
The two -(2) – day programmed held on Monday 14th and 15th October, 2024 at the Conference Hall of the Assembly (Headquarters, Asesewa) trained Members on the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act, 936), and the Model Standings Orders for MMDAs in Ghana.
In all, a total number of Forty-Nine (49) Members of the Assembly comprising Thirty-Three (33) Elected Members, Fifteen (15) Appointees and the Hon. District Chief Executive participated in the Orientation and Training Workshop.
